BE PREPARED: students are expected to have their instrument, music and pencil ready one minute after the bell rings. DO NOT ASK TO GO TO ANOTHER CLASS!

NO GUM, FOOD OR DRINK in the band area.

Be respectful of other equipment and instruments. Do not touch what is not yours.

Although schools have instrument storage areas, these exist primarily for school instruments and for convenience during the school day. Instrument storage rooms are not secure, and schools cannot be responsible for anything left in them.

PENCILS with erasers are a MUST in band every band class! NEVER A PEN!

ATTENDANCE POLICY: It is very important that all team members of band be present for all band events. An absence of even one performer can make a big difference in the success experienced by the whole group. Missing a performance may hurt the team and result in your grade being lowered. Make-up points for an excused absence are arranged on a case-by-case basis.

Clean up after yourself. All equipment and music must be returned its proper place. If you are unsure where to put something, ask Mr. Lamb. Fines will be assessed if problems occur.
DISCIPLINE PLAN
It is an expectation of this class that all students exhibit cooperative behavior. In the event of problems, the following plan will be implemented.

Referral to Principal

Conference with parents and Principal

Removal from class
The teacher may choose to jump steps in severe circumstances.
LESSONS
Lesson times will be assigned after the 2nd week of school. It is imperative that you attend your lessons on a regular basis in order to improve your skills. You are excused from lessons in the event of a test, lab, or quiz. It is the student’s job to inform Mr. Lamb of the absence as soon as possible following the lesson. If there is a problem with your lesson time, please see Mr. Lamb.
CONCERT DRESS
Students will be expected to dress up for their concerts. Appropriate dress would include: dresses or nice pants for girls, nice shoes (no tennis shoes) -- Dress pants for boys with a button-down dress shirt and tie, or sweater, with nice shoes (no tennis shoes) and socks. Do not wear anything that will hamper your ability to perform properly.
MARCHING BAND UNIFORM
Band t-shirt (purchased from Mr. Lamb), dark shorts, tennis shoes and socks. In the event of cold weather, jeans are allowed. Shirts are $10 and available directly from Mr. Lamb.
EXTRA CREDIT
Students may earn extra credit if approved by director beforehand. Suggestions may include:

Private instrumental lessons

Playing at church or outside performance

Attending a concert outside of the school

Honors Bands
-
Tutoring younger band students
REEDS AND SUPPLIES
There are area music stores that make weekly stops at the high school. You may contact them directly if you are in need of accessories or see Mr. Lamb.
