Language Art 6
Language Arts 6 allows students to take reading and writing to the next level. Students apply their skills across the curriculums and real world events. Students are encourage to look at the different topics/situations of what is read and ask themselves large questions from it. Drawing on background knowledge and schema students make inferences on new information that is not always straightforward to them. Students build their schema throughout the year by making inferences and connections from cartoons, graphs, and theme-based news articles. Students also learn literary terms and hold literature discussions on theme-based books. As for additional writing pieces students will create: a process paper, narrative, summaries, and research.
