This year our Family Engagement will look a little different. Our activities will housed here startomg in January 2021. Each month we will post Math and Reading activities. During each month take a picture of your child and family doing the activities and email it to Mrs. Langman or have your child turn in the activity to Mrs. Langman to be entered into a drawing for a book. We hope you enjoy the activities and the time spent together!
Reading 1) Write sentences using these kind words: kind, share, like, love, friend, help.
2) Create a story where your character teaches the reader a lesson about kindness.
The purpose of this project is to demonstrate your understanding of the story you have selected to read. Choose a story from your house or use your library book and read it all the way through with your family. Instead of accepting the ending the author has given, your job is to create your own ending for the story. Below are the expectations per grade level.
Kindergarten - draw a picture of the ending of the story.
1 and 2 grade - Create a different ending for the story using the same characters and setting (where the story takes place). Your ending should be 3-5 sentences.
3 - 5 grade - Create a different ending for the story. The characters have to have the same attitude as in the original piece, and the settings must be consistent with the story. Your ending should be 5+ sentences.
