Art Teacher Email Welcome! My name is Brenda Johnson and I teach Art for grades K-8. I love teaching Art because these classes provide students with a unique opportunity to combine hands-on learning, creative problem solving, analytical thinking and freedom of expression while they process their world and build bridges to the world around them. It's my belief that visual art classes also provide students with rich avenues to connect with core content in areas such as math, language arts, social studies and science. It's my goal to allow your child to experience year-long growth and success as they take risks and learn new skills in the art room!
I am also the coordinator of Glenwood City's Odysseyware and GEDO#2 program. Odysseyware is an Online Education Platform with many class offerings from Core General Education Studies to more specialized Electives available for students who may need Credit Recovery or options for Students looking to add Electives or to help solve Scheduling issues. GEDO#2 is an alternative option for High School seniors who qualify and meet certain requirements for both the State and Glenwood City School District, to earn their High School Diploma by taking the GED tests and fulfilling other various requirements. Glenwood City High School offers these two programs in an effort to create more opportunities for all of our Students to graduate, and to provide more options for electives that we may not be able to offer in regular classroom setting. I love Coordinating these two programs to help find an avenue of success for all of our students!
