Information Regarding Return to Play Amidst COVID-19

With the start of the 2020-2021 school year just around the corner, thoughts are turning to fall sports and a return to interscholastic competition. The concerns with COVID-19 are creating numerous challenges, including what the fall sports season will look like. You are being asked to review the following information in order to generate a better understanding of what we are planning for at this time.

Here are some important dates should athletic programming continue as "normal"  

• High School Cross Country - First Day of Practice - Monday, August 17
• High School Football - First Day of Practice - Monday, September 7
• High School Volleyball - First Day of Practice - Monday, September 7
   
• Middle School Cross Country - First Day of Practice - Tuesday, September 8
• Middle School Football - Equipment Handout - Tuesday, September 8
• Middle School Football - First Day of Practice - Tuesday, September 8
• Middle School Volleyball - First Day of Practice - Tuesday, September 8

OPEN GYM OPPORTUNITIES - SUMMER 2020

Glenwood City High School is excited to begin to make a move toward a more "normal" summer with open gym opportunities. Beginning Monday, July 6, students who will be enrolled at Glenwood City High School this fall will have an opportunity to work on their athletic skills as it relates to volleyball, football and basketball (information regarding other sports will be provided in the weeks to come).

In order to be mindful of the guidelines that have been provided by St. Croix County Public Health, the Wisconsin Department of Health and the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), we are limiting the number of students who will be allowed to participate in any given event. If students wish to be considered as a participant, he/she will need to complete the appropriate form. Students who are selected to attend these weekly opportunities will receive a confirmation in the form of a google invitation - if a student does not receive an invitation, they ARE NOT allowed to attend the open gym. 

NOTE: All communications will be made using district-provided email accounts.

Google sign-ups will be made available one week prior to the event; invitations/confirmations will be sent out three days prior to the event.
