CLASSROOM RULES/EXPECTATIONS
Welcome to our classroom!
In order for this to be a successful year for you/your student, we need to identify the expectations for the entire class. There are only two classroom rules that are expected to be followed by every student. They are:
1. Be Respectful. This includes respecting others’ ideas, feelings, property, general space, etc. Students are expected to respect other students, the teacher, and guests to the classroom. Follow the saying, “Treat others as you want to be treated.”
2. Be Responsible. This includes coming to class prepared (all necessary books, writing utensils, assignments, etc.). Students are expected to be in class on time and ready to learn.
Discipline Procedure:
Failure to follow the above classroom rules will result in the following consequences:
First offense – Verbal reminder
Second offense – Conference with student about behavior
Third offense – Phone call home to parents/guardians (made by the student describing the reason for the call) and additional time outside of class
Fourth offense – Conference with student, parents/guardians, Mr. Gretzlock and Ms. Unser
*** In extreme situations, all of the above steps may be skipped to ensure the safety of everyone in the classroom.***
