Hello and welcome! My name is Michelle Sullivan, and I’m excited to be your child’s 6th Grade English Language Arts and Math teacher this year.
I have been teaching for 5 years and have a passion for helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Edgewood College in Madison WI, and I’ve taught grades K - 2nd, 4th, and 6th, but 6th grade is my favorite because it’s such a pivotal year for building confidence and academic independence.
In my classroom, I strive to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel safe to express themselves, take risks, and explore a wide variety of literature and writing styles. We focus on building strong reading habits, learning to write with clarity and purpose, and developing communication skills that students will carry with them throughout their lives.
When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me reading a great book, or spending time with my family and four dogs.
