BOOKS - 3 week check-out period
Our book collection consists of FICTION, NON-FICTION, REFERENCE and ENCYCLOPEDIAS.
FICTION books are based on the imagination of the authors. These books may contain facts but are not entirely factual. This collection of books can be romance, mystery, fantasy or humorous. EXAMPLES: The Hunger Games, A Wrinkle in Time, The Hobbit, and The Fault in Our Stars.
NON-FICTION books that are NOT based on the imagination but on accounts of different subjects based on fact alone. Non-Fiction books are based of the Dewy Decimal System which groups specific topics together making easier to find what you're looking for. EXAMPLES: Sugar Changed the World, Who Was First? Discovering the Americas, Almost Astronauts, 13 Women who Dared to Dream, Remember When, A Tribute To the Vanishing Rural Landscape, Take it to the Hoop.
REFERENCE books are books of complied information usually on one subject. These books are used for reference, to refer to for factual information.
ENCYCLOPEDIAS are quick reference guides on any subject and usually do not contain in depth information.
PERIODICALS - 2 week check-out period
Magazines are on display in the periodical section of the library. Back issues are available by request from Mrs. Williams.
COMPUTERS
The High School Library has over thirty computers available for school related activities. In order to have access to the computers you must have a signed form from your legal guardian and you must abide by the guidelines.
How do I borrow materials from the library? You don't just walk out with them you must check them out using the computer at the circulation desk. If you need help, ask Mrs. Williams.
You may check out up to 4 books at a time including magazines.
If you forget when your book is due, come see Mrs. Williams. If you would like your book longer than you intended, you can use the computer at the circulation desk to RENEW your materials.
